About Me

Dr. Mukesh Kumar Ravidas was born on January 15, 1987, in Bihar’s historic Nalanda district, a land once known for its ancient seats of learning and timeless spirit of knowledge.

Today, he serves as an assistant professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, specializing in Spanish and Latin American studies. But long before he stood at the front of lecture halls, he was simply a determined boy from Bihar Sharif, holding dreams far bigger than his narrow village lanes, dreams rooted deeply in the hopes of his community.

Born in Bihar Sharif into a modest middle-class Ravidas family, part of the Scheduled Caste in Bihar, Dr. Ravidas was raised under the watchful guidance of his father, Shri Bacchan Ravidas, a retired high school principal who served at Town High School in Bihar Sharif for 15 years. It was his father who reminded him daily of what Dr. B.R. Ambedkar contributed to the nation: the unshakeable truth that education is the first promise of equality. As a boy, Mukesh understood that true change begins when even the poorest child believes that tomorrow can outshine today. Fueld by this belief, he completed his bachelor’s, master’s, MPhil, and PhD at JNU, proving to every young dreamer like him that no wall is too high when the mind refuses to bow.

Yet for Dr. Ravidas, education was never just about collecting degrees. He has taught at JNU, Delhi University (DU), and Jamia Millia Islamia, guiding students from all corners of the country. But as a student himself, he realized that true learning does not hide inside four safe walls; it lives where books meet people and ideas are tested by reality. He stepped into student politics, fought elections, faced defeats, celebrated wins, and stood by students through struggles big and small. In 2006, he won his first student election as Mess Secretary of Periyar Hostel.

Even when he lost later contests by a handful of votes, he never turned away, because for him, losing one fight never meant losing the cause. He kept building bridges and working with organisations like the RSS and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. He was convinced that courage is not about never falling, but about always standing up again.
But he knew his journey could not end inside classrooms alone. He could have stayed secure, teaching, writing, and lecturing. Instead, he stepped beyond those walls, believing that true service starts where comfort ends. Inspired by Vishwaguru Bharat and Babasaheb Ambedkar’s lifelong call for dignity and equality, Dr. Ravidas chose to carry India’s message to places near and far. As a certified yoga and meditation instructor with the Art of Living Foundation, he has guided thousands to calm their minds, strengthen their spirit, and stand taller than the struggles that surround them. From echoing lecture halls to shaded village courtyards where he sits cross-legged on the ground with youth and elders alike, he has shown that true confidence does not come from titles, but from within.

Today, he has proudly represented India in over 20 countries, sharing the nation’s ancient wisdom, cultural strength, and message of unity through his spiritual journey. For him, each trip was not just a visit but a mission to demonstrate that India’s true strength lies in its people’s ability to rise, serve, and stand together.

When fear and silence swept through cities during the pandemic, Dr. Ravidas did not stay behind closed doors. He walked through Hyderabad’s Medchal district with boxes of food and medicines, listening to families when most turned away, proving that Seva Hi Sangathan is not a line for slogans but a promise that breathes only through action.
For him, India’s heartbeat is its youth. He calls upon every young citizen to stand up and to raise their voice for themselves, for their community, for Bihar, and for India.

Through Volunteer for a Better India, youth camps, and awareness drives, he has encouraged thousands to step out of the shadows of doubt and fear, proving that Babasaheb’s dream of courage, education, and equality lives on in every young voice that dares to speak for justice.

In every role he has accepted, Dr. Ravidas has trusted the power of steady action, whether organising life skills workshops in remote blocks, training youth in city hostels, or addressing gatherings on global stages. His greatest strength remains unchanged: he sits, listens, and stands shoulder to shoulder with the very people he hopes to uplift.
In 2021, recognising his commitment and clarity, the Bharatiya Janata Party appointed him National Media In-Charge for its Scheduled Caste Morcha. Since then, he has travelled from Himachal’s hills to Odisha’s far villages, training party workers and ensuring that the voices of Dalits and marginalised communities reach every door of power. His views appear regularly in Kamal Sandesh, reminding all that promises written in manifestos must find life inside every household.

Now, after years of walking dusty roads and listening to countless hopes, Dr. Ravidas stands ready for his next chapter. He is prepared to contest the Rajgir seat, a reserved SC constituency that embodies his childhood, dreams, and mission. He envisions Rajgir and Nalanda as modern hubs of learning, tourism, healthcare, and green industry. He dreams of a day when Bihar’s youth do not leave home in search of livelihood but build prosperous lives in the same land that raised them. He dreams of mothers who no longer worry about survival but celebrate their children’s success. He dreams of villages whose names echo with pride, not struggle.

For Dr. Ravidas, politics is never about titles; it is about presence. It is about walking the village path when the cameras are gone, about listening when silence would be easier, and about staying when it would be simpler to leave. Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat and Vishwaguru Bharat, and rooted in Ambedkar’s timeless ideals of dignity and equality, he believes Bihar’s rise will shape India’s next great story of growth and justice.

He understands that when Bihar’s Scheduled Castes gain respect and opportunity, the entire state advances, and the nation becomes stronger as well. This mission does not belong to him alone. It belongs to every student who wants to learn without fear, every father who dreams of more for his child, and every mother who prays that her village’s name will stand for progress, not struggle.

Dr. Ravidas’s promise remains clear: to keep learning and serving and to stand forever beside the people who shaped him.
The time is now. The moment is here. Let us stand together and turn hope into reality.
Jai Hind. Jai Bharat. Jai Bihar. Jai Bhim.
