Dr. Mukesh Kumar Ravidas’s life is a story of dedication, service, and a deep commitment to his roots in Bihar. Coming from a humble background, he worked hard to secure a prestigious teaching position at Jawaharlal Nehru University, one of the top universities in India. For many, such a secure and respected job would be enough. But for Dr. Ravidas, true success is not just about individual comfort; it is about using his position and experience to bring meaningful change to the people he belongs to.
He feels deeply responsible whenever Dr. Ravidas looks back at his village and state. He knows that while he and a few others have moved forward, many families in Bihar, especially those from marginalised communities like Dalits and SC/ST groups, still struggle every day for basic needs and dignity. There are government schemes and policies meant to help, but often these do not reach the people who need them most. Dr. Ravidas wants to change this. He believes that when benefits are delivered directly, without corruption or middlemen, they can truly transform lives.

One major gap that he wants to address is education. He has seen firsthand that the lack of good higher education and practical skill training in Bihar forces young people to migrate to other states in search of jobs and better futures. This migration breaks families, creates hardships, and leaves villages empty of their youth. Dr. Ravidas dreams of building an ecosystem where good colleges, vocational training centres, and skill-based programs are available within Bihar itself. He wants the youth to study, work, and build their future in their towns and villages. He believes that when young people have local opportunities, it will not only stop migration but also reduce crime and poverty.
Along with education, Dr. Ravidas knows that employment at the local level is essential. Bihar’s farmers depend mostly on seasonal crops, and in the off-seasons, they often remain jobless or are forced to move to other states as daily-wage labourers. He wants to set up agro-processing units and small industries in villages so that farmers and their families have work throughout the year. Small and medium enterprises can become the backbone of local economies, providing stable income and hope to thousands of families.

Healthcare is another area close to his heart. Dr. Ravidas believes that good healthcare is not a privilege; it is a basic right. He wants to bring better hospitals, nursing colleges and medical colleges to rural Bihar. When new colleges or hospitals open in villages, they bring jobs for everyone, teachers, nurses, shopkeepers, milkmen, washermen and daily service providers. This creates a rural economy that supports itself and grows stronger over time. Better healthcare also means people live with dignity and security.

Beyond these practical steps, Dr. Ravidas wants to inspire people from his community to become leaders and decision-makers. Despite making up a large part of Bihar’s population, Dalits and other marginalised communities have very little voice in politics and governance. He wants to show the youth that politics is not dirty if good people enter it with honest intentions. He wants to set an example that even after securing a comfortable life in a big city, one can return to the roots and serve society at large. He dreams of encouraging the next generation to take up public service and politics to represent their people and bring lasting change.
His vision for Bihar is not just about policies; it is about people living with dignity, peace, and happiness. Having worked closely with spiritual organisations like the Art of Living Foundation, Dr. Ravidas understands the importance of mental well-being in today’s stressful times. He aims to bring hope, calm, and positivity to every village, so that people do not just survive but truly thrive. Dr. Mukesh Kumar Ravidas believes that when every child has access to good education, every family has healthcare, every farmer has a steady income, and every community has a strong voice, Bihar will shine as a model for the whole country. With your support, he hopes to be that bridge between dreams and reality, working fearlessly to build a stronger, more vibrant Bihar for everyone.
